Acoustic Foam Panels

FPMounts fit standard acoustic foam panels. They work with both 1" and 2" deep panels, plus corner bass traps.

No need to glue the panels. The FPMounts will simply grip the edges of the panels and stop them moving about.

Small Mounting Strips

Question; Why can't you just use Command Strips directly with the panels? Because command strips are simply useless at sticking to foam 🤦

FPMounts work great for attaching to your walls with Command Strips and your panels with our specially designed grip mechanism.

They are designed to precisely fit small Command Strips. It's the easiest way to mount them to your surfaces.

How To Mount

Build Your Grid

Use the crosses, tees, and corners to build your grid, and then slide the panels in - with a little pinch to settle them between the mount spikes.

The end and connector pieces are simpler and more flexible; great for unusual surfaces, corner bass traps, and for a little extra grip if you find a panel wants to warp away from the wall.

FAQ

Who are these for?

If you are looking for a simple and easy way to mount foam panels in your home studio, these mounts are for you.

They're easy to remove, so perfect for renters or those of us who like to refresh our home layout every so often and need something convenient and flexible.

You can use them on both walls and ceilings.

What foam panels do they fit?

These mounts are designed to work with common 1ft x 1ft acoustic foam panels that you can get pretty much anywhere online. Both the 1" and 2" variety, plus corner bass traps.

They should work with any foam panel, though they were originally designed for those ones.

Do they affect the sound?

These mounts prioritise ease of mounting and flexibility over acoustic perfection. Unless you're a professional mixer or building a high-end studio, they'll likely do you fine.

If you do want to maximise the acoustic properties of the foam panels, they should really be mounted completely flush to the wall. That's why they are traditionally glued to the wall.

If that level of acoustic perfection is what you really want, we'd actually strongly encourage you to look at better panels in the first place! The common 1" and 2" panels are rarely studio-grade in the first place, and need perfect placing to do their full job.

For most of us - with home studios or looking for an improved sound for our audio - killing the ping and main reflections will be fine.

In short, if you need simplicity, ease of mounting, and flexibility with moving and removing then get these mounts. If you need acoustic perfection, invest in proper panels!

How do they attach

You can attach them to your wall with small adhesive strips or 3mm screws. (We designed them to fit the small Command Strips exactly.)

They grab on to your panels thanks to the spikes. No need for glue. So you can remove, replace or reorient the panels without damaging them.

What's the best technique for putting them up

You have two choices in your approach:
a) use the dedicated Corners, Tees and Crosses for the best grip and placement
b) use the cheaper Ends and Connectors, though you'll need to be a bit more intentional about where you put them.

NB: For the corner trap panels that fit your room's corners (wall-to-wall or wall-to-ceiling) use the Ends and Connectors.

You can either measure out and mark the wall and place the mounts exactly (if you're good at measuring!), or you can first stick them to the panels and offer the panel up to your wall with them already in place. If you're building a grid with the Corners, Tees and Crosses, we think this works best for the first panel. The rest will naturally fit from there.

IMPORTANT! You want to make sure that there's a little bit of 'pinch' from the mounts into the panels, but not too much. They want to be snug. But not so snug the panels 'bow out' from your wall. You do need a little more pinch with the Ends and Connectors as they're smaller and less structured, and less pinch with the Corners, Tees and Crosses.

If you do find your first effort is a bit 'squiff' or not quite the right amount of snug, don't worry; you can easily take them off and re-fix more accurately.
